Dumfriesshire navigator Kirsty Riddick became the first woman in history to win the Asset Alliance Group Scottish Rally Championship Co-Driver title for a second time when she guided David Bogie to a clean sweep in this year’s SRC in Cumbria at the weekend.

Bogie switched from the Skoda Fabia that has powered him through the 2025 campaign to the old reliable VW Polo for the Grizedale Stages on Saturday, the final rally of the season, but there was no change in the outcome as the Dumfries pair roared into the lead on stage one and held it throughout a dreich day through the forests.

With the Snowman and the Jim Clark Reivers events being cancelled, that meant Bogie won all five of the rallies he started – he already had a record seventh title in the locker before Saturday. Kirsty was on the notes for all but the Speyside, after John Rowan decided to step down, and that left her needing the final day win to clinch the co-driver crown.

And there was no doubt on Saturday as the pair who have grown up together in and around Dumfries proved they know the skills of top-class rallying as well as they know each other – and probably better than the back of their hands!

They proved too strong for Stephen Petch and Michael Wilkinson who claimed second spot, and Jock Armstrong and Owen Paterson in third.

Kirsty had sat alongside Jane Nicol and Ann Wood as the only female trio to have won the co-drivers championship, Kirsty’s first triumph coming with the late Jimmy Girvan in 2008. And it was extra special that Jane was part of the performance on the day in Grizedale as, after winning the co-drivers title in 2018 with Andrew Gallacher, she guided Angus Lawrie to third place overall in Saturday’s Grizedale Stages in in his Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 4. Ollie Mellors and Ian Windress were second overall in their Proton Iriz R5.

Kirsty and Jane were also joined by Ann at the finish (see pic below) to celebrate Kirsty making history as Ann was with husband Andrew making up the Woodsport and Pirelli teams supporting the crews.
