Who we are
Andrew and Ann Wood have been a successful partnership in and out of the car for many a year – first rallying together in 1999 and winning the SRC 2WD Championship in Andrew’s privately run Astra GTE.
In 2000 they won the SRC Championship overall in the Dunlop shod Audi S2 and got hitched not long after. Dunlop Motorsport asked them if they could sell more tyres on the back of their championship win and Andrew Wood Motorsport was formed.
The “wee yellow truck” appeared at gravel and tarmac events all over Scotland and Northern England, with Andrew sharing the benefit of his expertise from a long rallying career with a wide variety of customers, many of whom are still with AWM today.
A few years in, Hankook was added to the range and the brand became the SRC’s tyre partner. The big black truck was acquired and dressed appropriately in Hankook colours, though the AWM fitting team continued to provide customers with the brand of their choice.
The truck had a make-over more recently, with iconic Pirelli branding to the fore, when Pirelli became the SRC’s tyre partner and their range of rally tyres became very popular across the classes.
Andrew also works for Pirelli, providing technical support and advice to Pirelli runners on BRC rounds while Ann also runs the sales office back at base and is kept busy supporting customers rallying everywhere from Isle of Man to Barbados!
